Our Story 

Bidaia, or "the traveler" in the Euskara language, is the story of a journey to the picturesque rolling hills of the Basque Country. There, best friends José Hernandez and Xabi Urrozola are sustainably cultivating the region's indigenous varietal Hondarribi Zuri just four kilometers from the Cantabrian Sea. The wines of San Sebastian are unique in their own right, and Bidaia even more so - these "weird guys of the DO" hand craft their wines in a small winery beneath Xabi's home, a 16th centuary cider house. Their approach is traditional, but their results are unique!
