St. Helena, Napa, California

Our Story

The Salvestrin Winery story traces its roots to the 1920s when Italian immigrants John and Emma Salvestrin fell in love with St. Helena. In 1932, they acquired a part of the historic Crane Ranch, and with the end of prohibition in 1933, they ventured into grape sales, contributing to themwine industry's revival. Ed Salvestrin, raised on the family vineyard, continued their legacy through the 60s, 70s, and 80s, even today residing on-site and tending to fruit trees.

In 1987, Rich Salvestrin, after completing his viticulture degree, returned to expand the family's grape business into winemaking. In 1994, Salvestrin Cabernet Sauvignon made its debut, and in 2001, the estate winery was built among the vines. Now in its fourth generation, the Salvestrin family is committed to sustainable grape farming, ensuring the land's preservation for future generations. Their environmentally and socially responsible practices extend from the vineyard, which has been sustainably farmed for over 80 years, to the certified Napa Green estate winery.
